I am booked in for cosmetic injectables. Do I need to do anything beforehand?

Accepted Answer

Avoid vigorous physical activity or any large intakes of alcohol for 24 hours as this increases the risk of bruising. Aspirin and Vitamin E should not be taken one week before the treatment.

Everyone experiences pain differently and has different pain thresholds. However, when it comes to anti-wrinkle injections, most people compare the sensation of the face injections to a quick prick. There is a slight pinching feeling, but it only lasts for a few seconds.
At Skinnovations Cosmetic Laser Med Centre, anti-wrinkle treatments require no anaesthetic. However, a topical anaesthetic can be used for dermal fillers if needed.

How long do anti-wrinkle cosmetic injectable results last?

Anti-wrinkle injections start to work 2-3 days after the injection and reach their full effect within 7-14 days. The effects can typically last for up to 3-4 months depending on the individual.

Can I get anti-wrinkle cosmetic injectable treatments while pregnant?

No. Your safety is our main concern and for this reason, we do not treat clients who are pregnant. We advise against all cosmetic injectable treatments whilst pregnant simply out of precaution and due to the lack of information available on cosmetic injectable treatment effects on the fetus.

What areas can be treated with anti-wrinkle injections?

The most common treatment areas for wrinkle reduction are crow’s feet (lines around the outer eyes), glabella (between the eyes) and the forehead. Other areas including ‘bunny lines’ (lines on the nose), jaw-line, chin and neck may also be treated and at Skinnovations Cosmetic Laser Med Centre, we have experienced practitioners who treat even the most complex areas. Muscle relaxants can even be used to treat excessive sweating and jaw grinding.
