Service Description

Cheek fillers can provide an instant lift to the cheeks and improve cheek and facial proportions. Enhancing the mid-face is often the cornerstone in facial rejuvenation. Dermal fillers can be used to shape, volumise and enhance cheeks. Cheek fillers can be used for; Replacing lost volume as occurs with ageing or weight loss – loss of cheek volume may contribute to flattening of facial contours. Fillers can be used to restore this lost volume. Enhancing cheek volume to improve facial balance and proportions – the volume of the cheeks may be depleted in comparison to other parts of the face. Cheek fillers can help to volumise and balance the cheeks in this situation. Support of the lower eyelid – volumising the (upper) cheek can improve the appearance of the lower eyelid. As the cheek loses volume with age, support of the ligaments of the lower eyelid is lost. Filler placed just under the lower eyelid in the upper cheek helps to support the lower eyelid. This reduces the appearance of eyebags or under-eye hollows. The ideal cheek structure The ogee curve, a term that commonly used in architecture, describes an ‘S’ shaped curve. On the face, the ogee curve relates to this s-shape curve of the cheek convexities. This is the ideal curvature of the cheek. Also, if you observe the light reflection from a youthful cheek, you will notice that there is a certain point where this light reflection is strongest. Often this point coincides with the point of maximal projection. Mathematical formulas using the Golden Ratio, or Phi, can be used to find this point on the cheek. Cheek fillers can be used to improve the shape of the cheek to more ideal proportions. How much cheek filler should I have and how often? The amount of cheek filler will vary depending on factors such as age, size of the cheeks in proportion to the rest of the face, and degree of pre-existing cheek volume loss. Our recommendation in most cases is to use as little as 1mL per session and treat various parts of the face and not just the cheeks. At yearly intervals, the treatment results can be reviewed and only repeated if required.
